Book Buddies: Barbara Throws a Wobbler

Book Buddies have been created to help teachers make the most of the books they read aloud to their classes. Each book in the series has been selected for the quality of its writing, illustration and ability to provoke thought and discussion.

Barbara Throws a Wobbler by Nadia Shireen is a hilarious book about managing your temper. There is a little bit of all of us in Barbara which is one of the reasons this book was so popular with our focus group of teachers.

In this Book Buddy we’ve provided you with detailed reading notes. We’ve also explored visual literacy and typography, two hugely important aspects of effective illustrated fiction that we think you will love exploring with your class. We’ve included work on vocabulary, and as with all of our Book Buddies, you’ll also find SAT style written comprehension questions.
