About this resource
This teaching sequence focuses on retrieval and vocabulary as well as including opportunities to read with fluency and expression. It is aimed at Year 2 children; however, it can be easily adapted to meet the needs of Year 1 and children in Year 3 and Year 4.
This teaching sequence includes:
A guided reading lesson plan in an editable word document format
A list of excuses sheet for use by children
A photocopiable set of comprehension questions for use during the teacher-led session
A photocopiable set of comprehension questions for independent or teacher/ TA supported work
A wordsearch suitable for independent work
A letter template for writing a letter to their own teacher
