Starting Points is a series of teaching prompts created by Primary English based on high quality children’s books. Each set comes with ideas to support literacy teaching; all informed by the National Curriculum. And because we recognise the emphasis on grammar within the curriculum, we’ve put it at the heart of each set of Starting Points.

It’s these links to the grammar in the National Curriculum that we’ve added to the Starting Points Overview, along with the books that use them. It’s an invaluable resource for teachers looking to embed grammar by using high quality children’s books.

We update the Starting Points Overview each month to reflect our ever-growing range of book-based teaching resources.
